Broadway star, New York Dance and Performance Bessie Award's nominee, top 10 of So You Think You Can Dance Australia, the Brazilian Gianne Abbott has been living her dream, travelling the world as a Professional Dancer. She started dancing Classical Ballet and Jazz at the age of 6 and since then Gianne has experienced a great variety of dance styles including Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballroom Dance and Afro Brazilian Dances which is her biggest passion, specially Samba. Gianne believes she started dancing Samba when she was still inside her mother’s belly, as her family (specially her father) have been always involved with Samba Schools, allowing her to grow up with the Carnaval atmosphere. As a little girl, Gianne used to dream about becoming the queen of the Carnaval and she had no idea that winning the Queen of the Carnaval Competition in her home town (Florianópolis) at the age of 18, was only the beginning of a promising dance career.

Her love for life is contagious and she believes that keeping a close contact with her family and her country’s rich culture are the base of her enthusiasm! She also believes that Dance is what keeps the balance between her body, mind and soul.
